About Me ~ I Write for Apples

You might know me around the web as Deanna or Dee, both of which get my attention. I'm a mom, former elementary teacher, freelance educational writer, and middle grade writer represented by Uwe Stender. Although it's quite possible I like variety and therefore also work on picture books and nonfiction for fun. I love writing conferences and meeting new friends, so you might see me around--I'm the one who always brings some yummy chocolate. Because really, life is better with chocolate.

My debut middle grade novel, THE BFF BUCKET LIST, is out now from Aladdin/Simon & Schuster. BEST. NIGHT. EVER., NO PLACE LIKE HOME, and THE ITALY LIST will follow in 2017-2018.

Ella and Skyler have been best friends since kindergarten. Although lately, things have been different. Ella’s determined to fix things with a fun project she’s sure will bring them closer together—The BFF Bucket List. But as new friends, epic opportunities, and super-cute boys enter the picture, the challenges on the list aren’t the only ones they face.
