Blame it on the Rain

We made quite a few trips to Pittsburgh back in my twenties.  There's something special about a baseball game on a beautiful day.  Of course, sometimes beautiful days can turn pretty quickly.

With little more than a clap of thunder to warm us, the rain started dropping from the sky as if buckets were dumping overhead.  I don't think I've ever been so drenched in my life.  Crowds of people ran inside to take cover, but there was no spot to be found that didn't have water coming from at least one angle.  Hundled in a corner, with water pouring through the rafters, we waited it out, even though most of the crowd eventually ran through the downpour to get home.

Believe it or not, the sun did come back out.  There was not a cloud in the sky, and it was so warm that our clothes were dry in no time.  The best part?  Practically everyone else was gone, so we got the best seats in the house for the rest of the game.

  1. What a nice story. Little would you know your day would even end on a beautiful note getting the best seats in the house. God works in mysterious ways.
