Trick or Treat with Agents!

I’m so excited to be co-hosting a contest with the fabulous Kimberly Chase and Brenda Drake.  Submissions will open October 24th at 11 EDT with the first 150 entries making it in.  (They must follow the rules correctly.)  Each of the hosts will then choose 12 entries that best fit the interests of the participating agents.  The finalists will be posted on our blogs from October 29-31st.  And here’s what you’re all waiting for- costumed agents will stop by during those dates to hand out treats, aka MS requests.

There will be a blog post next week introducing our costumed agents and what they are looking for right now.

Contest is open to MG,YA, and Adult.  (Please check agent interests to see if your genre is a good fit.)

Be sure to follow us on Twitter and our blogs for updates.  @kpchase817 @brendadrake @writeforapples and #AgentTreat

  6. Thanks for this great opportunity!

A stupid question: can the pitch be two sentences rather than three?

    Thanks!

    1. Sorry, I thought I answered this. Maybe in an email?

The pitch has to be three sentences to keep them all consistent.

      Thanks!

  7. Thanks for another fun party! Now, if the sentence doesn't end at 200 words, should we complete the sentence? Thank you Dee.

  8. Question 1 wants us to answer in our character's voice...do we write the response in first person even if the manuscript is in third?

  9. As long as you answer for or as the character, not the author, 3rd person or 1st person doesn't matter.

It's up to you. There's no right or wrong way to answer as long as it's less than 2 sentences.
